Reflection on Virtual Tours

(1) What a virtual tour is
- A virtual tour is a tour that can be taken on the computer without the expenses of an actual field trip. It is a website that provides pictures and sometimes video that take the user through a particular It provides access to websites that provide information that could not otherwise be accessible. Tours can take students through museums, galleries, places of special interest and US government buildings. The tours can be viewed for free with access to places all around the world, which is time saving because of the not needed travel time.

(2) How you will use virtual tours in your classroom
- As a Health and Physical Education Major I would probably not use virtual tours simply because of my content area. Reasons I could include a virtual tour into my program would be to show places like the Football Hall of Fame, or famous stadiums that would otherwise not be seen by my students.

(3)Positives and negatives of using virtual tours
- The positives of virtual tours are that they are time and money saving. The tours save money and time because money is not spent on traveling to the desination and also time is not spent on traveling to the destination. The virtual tours are great because they can be visited and revisited. It is also convenient because students can not only revisit but teachers can have students view them at any time because they are on the internet. There are no closings on the internet.

- The negatives of the tour is that the actual atmosphere of the tour is not present. Students do not get the full experience of the actual place where the tour takes place. Not everyone has access or is able to use a computer.
